Accent walls can be a powerful feature in your home, than break up the traditional four walls of the same paint and draw the eye to a particular part of the room.
An Accent wall is traditionally a brightly colored painted wall in a room where all the other three walls are painted white but you aren’t limited to this choice. You can choose a dark or neutral color for your accent wall, use wallpaper, painters tape to make stripes or other designs.
It is easy to go with the wrong accent wall. Choosing the wrong focal wall, the wrong color or shade, or even too distracting from the eye but the good thing about accent walls are they aren’t permanent and are an easy fix in the case of a mistake.
Spring is an inviting time of year for your home. It’s often the end of “hibernation season”. Spring calls for delicate colors and soft fabrics throughout the home with a pop to awaken Spring Fever.
LIGHTEN IT UP!
It’s really easy and simple to do. This means, colors, fabrics and flow everything should be clean and refreshing, light and tranquil. Choose sheer materials and open weave textiles. Move from ceramics to glass or crystal. Choose either contemporary or traditional, but stick with one throughout your space.
And nothing says spring more than fresh flowers. Its time to throw out those dried up poinsettias from the holidays and choose you’re favorite flower. Preferably one in a color that pops! Instead of mixing bouquets, choose one kind to give the space a relaxing mood.
Creating an inviting porch or deck can never go wrong. Summer festivities often move at home living outdoors. Introduce a new patio set, door rug, and wreath to welcome guest while adding vibrant landscape choices to seal the deal.
And finally most importantly spring cleaning, this can be anything from removing winter dust from shelves or cleaning out the fireplace. Add an arrangement of candles in the fireplace, clean doors and windows inside and out, and dust the creepy crawly corners for the big premier we call summer! Even patching up paint can be quick and easy and complete your homes new look.
